The IE6 battle
I have been working with some javascripts lately, mostly jQuery stuff, and everything seems to be a challenge to fix in Internet Explorer 7, then I test it in Internet Explorer 6 and it’s even worse. I’m getting pretty used to it, but I feel tired of battling, it’s hard to create great functionality without spending hours on fixes. I have taken some steps though.
My first step towards an IE6-free future is mostly using PNG8 with alpha transparency for transparent images. They don’t get grey like PNG32’s in IE6, but they look uglier. Those of you using IE6 should be getting an uglier internet until you upgrade, it’s well deserved
I suggest everyone do the same. Adobe Fireworks export PNG8 with alpha transparency with no problems.
Another thing. I’m kind of redesigning this page to be a bit simpler. Yes, quite quick to redesign it already but I have some preferences I need to cater to
Hopefully it’ll turn out good and have some better features, come back soon
